Using an AI model trained on our sculpture Cursed Cat, we let it generate an endless stream of new variations. Among the images it produced was a wooden stamp that had never existed. We turned that AI hallucination into a real object—a tool capable of generating images itself.
Each print is the result of both machine and manual labor. A synthetic image is translated into a physical artifact, bringing together two image-making systems separated by centuries. Both operate through repetition and variation: one through statistical patterns distilled from vast datasets, the other through ink, pressure, and the hand-carved block.
