Hell.com was a very well-known art website with no public access. In February 1999 Rhizome subscribers received an exclusive invitation and a password to access the new Hell.com exhibition for a limited period of 48 hours. During this time we copied the exhibition and published it on our website, without restrictions. The action led to a cease-and-desist letter from Hell.com. While Hell.com later ceased to exist our version has remained visible ever since.
