New performance “For Internet Use Only”

Eva and Franco Mattes, For Internet Use Only

“For Internet Use Only” is a live performance in which we remotely share our computer desktop with anyone in the audience. In the venue the desktop is projected on a wall of vertical desks, while the audience is watching, awkwardly chilling out on Yoga mats. We keep working on our computer as if nothing special is happening: check email, surf the web, watch videos, edit texts and photos, log in social media accounts and buy things online. Based on two of our previous works, ‘Life Sharing’ (2000) and ‘The Others’ (2011), the piece is a playful, yet scary, take on data over sharing, exhibitionism and voyeurism.
